Workshop – The act of painting

Educational and interactive family workshop in conjunction with the exhibition The Lyric Vision – Abstract-Expressionism in Icelandic Art, 1957-1970.
It is the first retrospective exhibition that focuses on the Icelandic abstract expressionism that developed in Iceland following the years after the World War II. The subjects of the workshop is Abstract Expressionism and „the act of painting“.
Instead of representing recognizable things, Abstract Expressionist artists wanted to express their emotions through line, shape, and color. Guests are invited to try their hands at enjoyable projects related to abstract paintings and see various examples of different abstract paintings. Group vistis are welcome but must be arranged in advance at firstname.lastname@example.org.
