An exhibition on the received proposals in the international competition for ideas on a plan for the Vatnsmyri area in central Reykjavik with emphasis on the price-winning proposals. During the exhibition various events will take place such as the jury´s announcement, the price-winners indroduction of their ideas and an open panel on aestetics and urban planning. The proposals and results will be published in a book which also gives an insight into the process of the competition and contemporary urban planning. February, 20:00 AUKTION Students at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, dep. of design, arrange an “auction” on lots in Vatnsmyri area with regards to the winning proposal. Guja Dögg Hauksdóttir architect leads the auction.
Friday 15. February, 16:00-18:00 INTRODUCTION AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS Authors of the awarded entries explain their work and the jury argue for their comments followed by an open panel discussions on the planning of Vatnsmyri. Saturday 16. February, 14:00 GUIDED TOUR Guja Dögg Hauksdóttir architect leads a tour of the exhibition. Sunday 17. February, 14:00 GUIDED TOUR Steve Christer architect, member of the jury, leads a tour of the exhibition. Thursday 21. February, 20:00 LECTURE Massimo Santanicchio architect adresses aestetics and expression in urban planning.
