Kjarval‘s oddiTIES – An Untold Story
10 September - 30 December 2011
Kjarvalsstaðir
The painter Jóhannes S. Kjarval was known for his eccentricities that challenged the Icelandic society and its bourgeois values. The Workshop examines the idea if the artist’s eccentric behaviour and strange actions might be interpreted as performance art. Were they a part of the artist’s creative work-process and therefore containing a conscious artistic meaning? Artist Huginn Þór Arason is the instigator and curator of the workshop.
