Watery Hues: A Survey of Icelandic Watercolours. Kjarvalsstaðir - Friday 12 February 6 p.m.

Sixty Icelandic artists display one hundred and fourty works in water colour in the exhibition Watery Hues.

The exhibition is the first of its kind, spanning the 130-year history of water colour painting in Iceland, from 1880 – 2009. The exhibition gives due space to Iceland’s best-known painters while introducing lesser-known artists who found a medium for their talents in water colour.

The Reykjavík Art Museum and Opna Books will present a companion book written by exhibition curator Aðalsteinn Ingólfsson.

On Sunday 14 February at 3 p.m. guests are invited to a talk by the curator Aðalsteinn Ingólfsson.
