Family guide with music and storytelling. Ásmundur Sveinsson Sculpture Museum, Sunday 28 March 2 p.m. (In Icelandic)
Families are especially invited to a visit in Asmundarsafn next Sunday where actress Guðrún Ásmundsdóttir and two young artists Ragnheiður Harpa Leifsdóttir student at The Iceland Academy of the Arts and singer Andreu Marke give a guided tour through the exhibition Rhyme in speech and tones. The works at the exhibition are by sculptor Ásmundur Sveinsson and eleven contemporary artists. Ásmundur was called a folk poet in the visual art scene and always thought that art should have errands to people and should be placed among it.
Besides Ásmundur the artists in the exhibition are Birgir Snæbjörn Birgisson, Davíð Örn Halldórsson, Eirún Sigurðardóttir, Finnur Arnar Arnarson, Guðrún Vera Hjartardóttir, Hrafnkell Sigurðsson, Kristín Gunnlaugsdóttir, Ólöf Nordal, Pétur Örn Friðriksson, Sara Riel and Steingrímur Eyfjörð. Curators are Ólöf K. Sigurðardóttir and Sigríður Melrós Ólafsdóttir.
Before the trio starts their tour, art historian Kristín Björg Jóhannesdóttir introduce the exhibition briefly.
The Sculpture Museum is open Saturday and Sundays from 1 – 4 p.m.
Entrance is free.
