Rhyme – Curator‘s Talk (in Icelandic). Ásmundarsafn, Sunday 18 April at 2 p.m.
Ólöf K. Sigurðardóttir, one of the curator of the exhibition Rhyme leads a guided tour through the exhibition next Sunday 18 April at 2 p.m. discussing the coherence between the works of Ásmundur Sveinsson (1893-1982) and contemporary, Icelandic artists on display.
The exhibition showcases contemporary artists that tackle similar issues as Ásmundur did in his time, but in a context of a new age. All though presentation, thought and process might be somewhat different, the struggle is the same in a new century.
In addition to Ásmundur's works, the exhibition displays works by Birgir Snæbjörn Birgisson, Davíð Örn Halldórsson, Eirún Sigurðardóttir, Finnur Arnar Arnarson, Guðrún Vera Hjartardóttir, Hrafnkell Sigurðsson, Kristín Gunnlaugsdóttir, Ólöf Nordal, Pétur Örn Friðriksson, Sara Riel and Steingrímur Eyfjörð. Curators: Ólöf K. Sigurdardóttir and Sigrídur Melrós Ólafssdóttir.
Opening hours are Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
