LornaLAB: On Instrument Making #2. Hafnarhús, Saturday, 26 November, 1 – 5 p.m.
LornaLAB in collaboration with Reykjavik Art Museum offers a series of workshops in its program of events. The final workshops this year will focus on the theme of instrument making led by composers Áki Ásgeirsson Magnús Jensson and Jesper Pedersen. Those interested are encouraged to participate actively in the dialogue.
The workshop will start at 1 p.m. with introductions on new instruments; on computer-controlled acoustic instruments, musical robots as well as "circuit bending" – to alter electronic toys into creative instruments. Bring your own toys, or other electronic devices that give sound – and participate actively in the workshop!
LornaLAB is a newly founded (late summer 2010) forum for the creative use of technology. Its current function is information, resource and inspiration sharing which has taken the form of lectures, fieldtrips and workshops in its short life to date. Among its members are industrial designers, art theorists, computer scientists, AI researchers, music theorists and new media artists to name a few.
