Symposium: Art and Public Space. Reykjavik Art Museum - Hafnarhús, Saturday, 4 February 1-4 p.m.
The symposium is set to discuss art and public space on the occation of the 40th anniversary of the Reykjavik Association of Sculptors. For 2012 the Association will host a varied schedule of events relating to the theme of art and public space. These include the symposium, an exhibition and a publication.
The symposium is held in collaboration between Reykjavik Art Museum and the Reykjavik Association of Sculptures. Speakers include art historian Æsa Sigurjónsdóttir and artists Ólafur S. Gíslason and Sara Riel. Hrólfur Jónsson, Director of public work at The City of Reykjavik and artist, Brynhildur Þorgeirsdóttir participate in panel discussions. Moderator: Dagný Guðmundsdóttir artist and board member of the Reykjavik Association of Sculptors.
The symposium takes place in Icelandic and is free of charge.
