Artist´s talk with Dan Perjovschi, Hafnarhús, Sunday 16 September, 4 p.m.

Dan Perjovschi, Budget Cut, 2011

Romanian born and based international artist Dan Perjovschi will give a lecture on his artistic practice in relation to his site-specific wall drawing currently on view at Reykjavik Art Museum – Hafnarhús.

Perjovschi works with cartoons and ‘indoor graffiti‘ which he draws directly on walls and floors at different locations. His drawings criticize all manner of popular opposites that flood the mass media, shaping our lifestyles and seeping into our thinking via advertising, value clichés, prejudices and narcissistic over-estimation of the self.

Dan Perjovschi (b. 1961) is an internationally renowned artist who lives and works in Bucharest, Romania. In 1999 he represented Romania at the Biannale di Venezia and did a large installation at MoMA in New York in 2008, as well as having exhibited at many venues worldwide. Further: www.perjovschi.ro
