Curator´s talk with Hafþór Yngvason, Hafnarhús, Sunday 21 October 3 p.m.

Sunday 21 October at 3 p.m., Hafþór Yngvason museum director and curator leads guests through the exhibition Power of Passage currently on show at Reykjavik Art Museum - Hafnarhús.

As the title suggests, the exhibition Power of Passage explores the forces of transition. All of the artworks presented involve progression and change. They are the outcome of impersonal and indeterminate processes that the artists use to transform their materials from one state into another. The final forms the works take are unpredictable, as the artists allow the dynamic chemical reactions of the materials to work on their own, largely without interference of the artists’ own hands. The attention is on the progression of the transformation itself. The artworks that we see in the exhibition are manifestations of the processes and they are marked by the time involved. The artists participating in the exhibition are Guðrún Einarsdóttir, Harpa Árnadóttir, Jóhann Eyfells, Ragna Róbertsdóttir, Sólveig Aðalsteinsdóttir and Þór Elís Pálsson.

The event takes place in Icelandic.
