Rhythm and Peace: dance-workshop for friend and families at Videy
Friends and families are encouraged to join in on a creative dance - workshop held at Viðeyjarstofa (in Viðey island) Saturday, 1 December from 2 p.m. in relation to Yoko Ono’s Imagine Peace Tower.
Dance is an open language understood by everyone, no matter if you speak Icelandic, French, Thai, or Hebrew. Everyone understands the human movement and can express themselves through dance. During the workshop a dance group from the Dance Academy of Hafnarfjörður will introduce different dance styles and participants will get a chance to learn a few steps that refer to fun and peace. The workshop is led by Eva Rós Guðmundsdóttir and is open to all human kind, young and old as the rhythm is found in all of us. Afterwards a walk to the Imagine Peace Tower is offered for those interested.
This is a perfect opportunity for family and friends to get creative and enjoy peace and togetherness. The coffee house in Viðeyjarstofa will be open all day for those who want to enjoy the selection of refreshments offered.
The ferry departs from Skarfabakki at: 1.15, 2.15 and 3.15 p.m. and from Viðey at: 1.30, 2.30, 3.30, 4.30 p.m. and right after the guided walk to the Imagine Peace Tower.
The ferry toll is kr. 1000 for adults and kr. 500 for children (6-18 years old), free for children under 6 years old.
This is a collaborative project between Reykjavik City Library, Reykjavik Art Museum and Videyisland.
