Reykjavík Dance Festival, Hafnarhus, August 23rd – September 1st

Reykjavik Art Museum is one of the venues for this years edition of Reykjavik Dance Festival and presents a varied program from August 23rd – September 1st.

Requiem

On Tuesday August 27th Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir and Marino Thorlacius premiere the dance – shortfilm Requiem. The screening starts at 4 p.m. and admission is free.

Next weekend The Surprised Body Project by Wee / Francesco Scavetta can be seen at Hafnarhúsið. The piece is continuously changing. Through residencies in different countries, Wee presents  new versions of the work, often involving local dancers invited to join in the process.

The version at Reykjavik Dance Festival, involves dancers from Wee company, Iceland and Russia.  The Icelandic band Amiina composed the music score for the piece which they will play live during the performance.

The piece is performed on August 31 at 3 p.m. and September 1st at 8 p.m. Tickets are 2.200
