Idea Lab opens at Kjarvalsstaðir, Thursday 7 November at 4 p.m.

New and exciting workshop for the younger generation, called The Idea Lab, will be opened at Kjarvalsstaðir next Thursday at 4 p.m.  The main goal with the Idea lab is to create a space for younger visitors to make a meaningful connection with the art on view. We have a special collection of books in the Idea Lab called, The Inspiration Library, which is a concept library where artists and designers have shared their favourite books which have inspired and/or given them new ideas. In the Idea Lab we also have paper and pencils for guests to draw their own ideas or just to let their imagination flow.

To connect with the art on view, we look to the artist and their ideas. Teachers will collaborate with artists to create content and programs that reveal the creative process by scheduled activities on weekends this winter.
In this new workshop we challenge ourselves and our guests to think creatively, embrace new ideas, and consider art and culture in all its complexity.
