D - 6 Karlotta Blöndal

The medium stands on a whisper-thin line between one world and the next, using his own body as a channel for information. In his unconscious and elevated trance state, the medium becomes a symbol of concealed truth and of the immaterial threshold that separates two worlds. Karlotta’s work invites us to contemplate messengers of truth and of fiction, and the boundary between the cold facts of materiality and the truth of immateriality.

Karlotta Blöndal graduated from the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts in 1997. She pursued graduate studies in Holland and Sweden, completing an MA degree at the Academy of Arts in Malmö, Sweden, in 2002.
